Good country soul food..the staff & owner Mr Gilbert is Always very welcoming and kind you really feel at home...now let's get to the food the fried chicken & fried fish is unmatched and tastes like my Idear cooked it...crawfish Mac n cheese delicious smothered chicken and smothered pork chop that gravy "homemade 40way gravy" mymy Soo good and the cakes and peach cobbler yummy is All I can say..give them a try you won't be disappointed

The food is amazing. We didn't take any photos. The hubs had baked chicken w/ rice, Mac and cheese, greens, yams, and cornbread. I ordered smothered pork chops with rice, green beans, corn, black-eyed peas, and cornbread. I asked for a to-go container, but when the owner brought it out... my plate was empty with a bone. Everything was delicious. Now, this cake... this is so moist and chocolaty. It's definitely from scratch, and so is the icing. This didn't miss, and we're coming back. Oh... and before I left, the owner brought the pound cake. Glory to God! Y'all, support this BOB!

The food is really good, and made to order. I had the fried chicken plate with Mac and Cheese and green beans. They didn't disappoint. The owner was really nice. They also have a bar. I had two black labels on the rocks, and I got them at a reasonable price. I will definitely be back. I mentioned this as well in my Google review; but I didn't mention that they have a stage, and I was told they have live music. When I went, it was during lunch; but I'll definitely be back to check out the live music.
The food was amazing and the owner made me want to come back. The ambiance was nice, I was there on a Sunday afternoon not much going on but really relaxing. The Coldwater Cornbread was absolutely delicious. I wasn't a fan of the baked chicken but the fried was on point! The lemon cake was good.
I ordered the fried chicken wings and they were fried to crispy perfection. I'm sorry I didn't give this place a chance earlier. I have ordered delivery and have eaten in as well, the fried chicken was delish on both occasions. This spot is very roomy and nicely furnished, etc. If you haven't guessed it by my comments, this place is definitely on my regular rotation list. I want to try other items, but it'll be very difficult to not get that yummy fried chicken!
So I have come to Big Mama's for the past three Friday's in a row. The catfish is AMAZING! Some of the best in Houston I've tasted so far. You get two HUGE pieces that are seasoned to perfection. You get two sides with your meal. The Mac and cheese is delicious and I got the yams which were good too! And I love the cornbread! For dessert, I tried the butter pecan cake and it was DELICIOUS. Great food and friendly staff! You have to try it!
